Zinc Oxide Strapping 4″
Zinc Oxide Strapping (4 inch) is a rigid, non-stretch adhesive tape used for strong fixation and joint immobilization. The tape is impregnated with zinc oxide adhesive, which is soothing to the skin and offers powerful long-term adhesion. The 4-inch width is designed for large joints (knees, shoulders) or for securing heavy dressings. It is commonly used in sports medicine to limit movement in injured ligaments and in hospitals to secure splints or traction kits.
Our 4-inch Zinc Oxide Plaster (Strapping) is a heavy-duty medical tape designed for situations requiring rigid support. Unlike elastic bandages, this tape does not stretch, providing unyielding support to restrict the movement of injured joints.
Features:
– Width: 4 inches (approx. 10cm).
– Adhesive: Zinc Oxide based (helps reduce skin irritation while maintaining a very strong bond).
– Backing: Rayon or Cotton cloth, porous to allow sweat to escape.
– Tensile Strength: High tensile strength to withstand stress during physical activity or traction.
Indications:
– Orthopedics: Securing traction ropes and splints.
– Sports Medicine: Taping ankles, knees, and shoulders to prevent sprains or support healing ligaments.
– Dressing Retention: Holding large, bulky dressings in place where flexibility is not required.
Application:
Ensure skin is clean and dry (and preferably shaved) before application for maximum adhesion. Can be torn by hand but scissors are recommended for the 4-inch width for a clean edge. Contains Latex (usually), so check for allergies.
