Solu sets Fluid Volumetric
Solusets (Volumetric Burette Sets) are specialized IV administration sets designed for precise fluid volume control. They feature a rigid, graduated chamber (burette) typically of 100ml or 150ml capacity. This allows the nurse to fill the chamber with a specific amount of fluid/medication from the main bag and infuse only that amount. They are critical for pediatric patients to prevent accidental fluid overload and for administering diluted medications over a set period. Equipped with a microdrip dropper (60 drops/ml).
The Volumetric Soluset (Burette Set) is a safety-critical device for pediatric and critical care infusion therapy.
Key Components:
– Burette Chamber: Calibrated 100ml/150ml cylinder allows for exact measurement of medication and limiting the total volume available to the patient. Contains a floating valve that shuts off flow when the chamber is empty to prevent air embolism.
– Microdrip: Delivers 60 drops per ml (60 gtt/ml), allowing for very slow, controlled infusion rates.
– Ports: Injection port on top of the burette for adding medication.
– Roller Clamp: For regulating flow rate.
– Y-Site: Injection site near the patient end for bolus doses.
Indications:
– Pediatric/Neonatal fluids (where over-hydration is dangerous).
– Intermittent IV drug administration (antibiotics) that need dilution.
Usage:
Fill the burette from the main IV bag, clamp the top, add medication if needed, and set the drip rate. Sterile, single-use.
