Description

Our 3-Way Foley Catheter Size 20 is an essential post-operative tool for urological surgery. It is designed to prevent clot retention which can cause severe pain and bladder distension.

Key Features:
– 3 Channels:
1. Irrigation Channel: Connects to saline bags for continuous flushing.
2. Drainage Channel: Large lumen to evacuate fluid, clots, and debris.
3. Inflation Channel: For the retention balloon (often a larger capacity balloon, e.g., 30cc, to help with hemostasis by applying pressure to the bladder neck).
– Size: 20 Fr (Yellow).
– Material: Reinforced latex or silicone to prevent collapse under suction/irrigation.

Indications:
– Post-Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP).
– Post-bladder tumor resection.
– Gross hematuria with clot formation.

Usage:
The irrigation input allows for a “washout” effect. Nursing staff must balance input and output carefully. Due to the large diameter, plenty of lubrication (anesthetic gel) is required for insertion.
