Suture polydioxanone no.1 loop taper point 150 cm, 1/2 circle 48 mm

Suture Polydioxanone (PDS) Size 1 is a long-lasting absorbable monofilament suture. This unique “Loop” format provides a double-strand effect or allows for self-locking techniques, often used in closing the abdominal wall (sheath). The 48mm Taper Point needle is extra-large and round, designed to penetrate fascia without cutting it. PDS retains strength for up to 6 weeks, much longer than Vicryl, making it ideal for slow-healing tissues.

Description

Polydioxanone (PDS II / Mono-Plus) Size 1 Loop Suture is designed for high-tension fascial closure.

Specifications:
– Material: Polydioxanone (Monofilament). Absorbable but offers extended wound support (up to 90 days mass absorption, strength for 6 weeks).
– Format: Loop Suture (150cm loop length, effectively creates a double strand).
– Needle: 48mm Taper Point (Round Body), 1/2 Circle. Heavy needle for deep fascia.

Applications:
– Mass closure of the abdominal wall (laparotomy).
– Orthopedic capsule repair.
– Hernia repair (where absorbable is preferred).

The monofilament structure prevents wicking of bacteria into the wound. The loop design speeds up closure time by eliminating the need to tag the end of the suture.
