Description

Polyglactin 910 (Size 2/0) is a versatile, absorbable surgical suture composed of a copolymer of glycolide and lactide. It is the generic equivalent of Vicryl.

Specifications:
– Gauge: USP 2/0 (Metric 3.0).
– Structure: Multifilament braided.
– Coating: Coated with a mixture of caprolactone/glycolide and calcium stearate to facilitate non-traumatic tissue passage and easy tie-down.
– Absorption: Absorbs by hydrolysis. Retains approximately 75% tensile strength at 2 weeks and 50% at 3 weeks. Complete absorption occurs between 56 and 70 days.

Applications:
– General soft tissue closure.
– Bowel anastomosis.
– Peritoneum and muscle closure.
– Skin closure (subcutaneous).

This suture causes minimal tissue reaction compared to catgut. It is reliable for holding tissue tension during the critical wound healing period. Store in a cool, dry place.
