Vicryl 210 RBN Dozen

Vicryl 2/0 (210) RBN is a sterile, absorbable, synthetic braided suture. ‘RBN’ stands for Round Body Needle, meaning the needle is tapered and designed to separate tissue fibers rather than cut them. This size 2/0 is a medium-thickness suture used for soft tissue approximation and ligation. Being absorbable, it does not require removal, making it ideal for internal suturing in gynecological, abdominal, and general surgery. Supplied in a box of 12 (Dozen).

Description

Vicryl (Polyglactin 910) is the industry standard for absorbable sutures. The 2/0 gauge with a Round Body Needle (RBN) is versatile and widely used.

Specifications:
– Material: Copolymer of lactide and glycolide (Polyglactin 910). Coated for smooth passage through tissue.
– Absorption: Absorbed by hydrolysis. Tensile strength is retained for approximately 3-4 weeks, with complete absorption in 56-70 days.
– Needle Type: Round Body (Taper Point). This needle is non-cutting and is used on soft tissues like the bowel, muscle, and subcutaneous fat where cutting edges might tear the tissue.
– Size: 2/0 (Metric 3.0). Strong enough for fascia but fine enough for general closure.

Applications:
– Gastrointestinal anastomosis.
– Ligation of bleeders.
– Closure of peritoneum and muscle layers.
– OB/GYN procedures (hysterectomy, C-section).

Storage:
Store below 25°C. Do not use if the package is open or the expiry date has passed. The braided structure offers good knot security and handling properties.
