Interguide tracheal tube introducer (bougie)

The Interguide Tracheal Tube Introducer, commonly known as a Bougie, is a flexible, firm stylet used to facilitate difficult intubations. It features a coudé (angled) tip that allows the anesthetist to feel the tracheal rings (“click”) and navigate anterior airways where the vocal cords are not fully visible. Once the bougie is in the trachea, the endotracheal tube is railroaded over it into place.
