Folley Catheters Size 8

Our Size 8 Foley Catheter is specifically engineered for pediatric urology. Catheterizing a child requires extreme care and the correct equipment; the 8 Fr size is the standard starting point for young children.

Specifications:
– Size: 8 Fr (Color code: Blue/Black depending on brand standard).
– Balloon: Small capacity (3cc – 5cc) to avoid occupying too much bladder volume.
– Material: Often 100% Silicone is preferred in pediatrics to reduce the risk of latex allergies and stricture formation, though latex options exist.
– Rigidity: Includes a stylet (in some silicone versions) to assist insertion, as small catheters can be very floppy.

Indications:
– Urine output monitoring in sick children.
– Post-surgical bladder drainage.
– Relief of retention.

Safety:
Use the smallest gauge necessary to do the job. Lubricate generously. The small lumen can block easily with sediment, so monitor flow closely. Sterile, single-use only.
